We offer teeth cleaning with AirFlow, which is an instrument that blows small salt water particles and will thus remove tartar and superficial discoloration in an effective and gentle way, for example coffee, tea, soft drinks and smoke.

Information

Tartar removal

AirFlow teeth cleaner is a hygiene treatment that removes stains on the teeth, plaque and discoloration using a combination of water, compressed air and fine powder particles. These three components are combined in a powerful jet that gently removes stains from the teeth, including hard-to-reach areas as well as biofilm from above and below the gum line. Dental plaque is a biofilm of harmful bacteria that grows on surfaces in the mouth.

Tooth scaling

Tooth scaling involves the careful removal of plaque bacteria from the tooth surface just below the gum line. Your dentist uses hand-held instruments, such as scraping plaque from the tooth using a metal tool called a dental scaler and curette. The dentist inserts this thin tool under the gum line to access plaque that your toothbrush cannot, and this is an important part of our care for your oral health.

Polishing

After your dentist has removed tartar with scaling and calculus, your teeth are then polished to remove stains before flossing and topped with a protective layer of fluoride.

We believe that the teeth that are polished and scaled have significantly less plaque build-up on the teeth. Having less plaque can preserve your tooth enamel, which is impossible to fully restore once eroded or destroyed. Tooth polishing also removes bacteria from the surface of your teeth.

Periodontitis Treatment

The goal of periodontitis treatment is to thoroughly clean the pockets around the teeth and prevent damage to the surrounding bone. If your periodontitis is not advanced, treatment may involve less invasive procedures, such as:

- Scaling removes tartar and bacteria from the tooth surfaces and under the gums. It can be performed using instruments, a laser or an ultrasound device.

– Root planing. Root planing smoothes the root surfaces, prevents further build-up of tartar and bacteria, and removes bacterial by-products that contribute to inflammation and delay healing or reattachment of the gums to the tooth surface.

- Topical or oral antibiotics can help control bacterial infection. Topical antibiotics may include antibiotic mouth rinses or the insertion of gels containing antibiotics in the space between the teeth and gums or in the pockets after deep cleaning. However, oral antibiotics may be necessary to completely eliminate infection-causing bacteria.

Sandblasting

AirFlow can remove stains caused by coffee, tea, tobacco and red wine. The Airflow teeth cleaning system is also able to remove stains caused by genetic susceptibility to darker teeth, in addition it can remove stains that may be caused by medication.

Who do we recommend Airflow treatment to?

Airflow teeth cleaner can be repeated regularly and is suitable for both adults and children. It is ideal for the removal of biofilm, stains and young tartar on natural teeth, restorations, implants, hypersensitive patients, orthodontic patients and recall appointments with the ability to reach hard-to-reach areas with precision.

Airflow can get rid of all the plaque and discoloration that these habits have left behind. AirFlow is not only a great way to maintain your dental hygiene and oral health, but it is also the best treatment available today for the treatment and management of gum disease (periodontal disease). In addition, it is also great for a quick fix for special occasions such as weddings, holidays and job interviews

Dental Health Tips:

  • Brush your teeth properly: Brush your teeth thoroughly twice a day for at least two minutes each time. Use a fluoride toothpaste to strengthen tooth enamel.
  • Clean between the teeth: Use dental floss or interdental brushes daily to remove plaque and food debris that the brush cannot reach.
  • Visit the dentist regularly: Go to the dentist at least twice a year for routine check-ups and professional teeth cleaning.
  • Eat a healthy diet: Reduce your intake of sugary foods and drinks that can lead to tooth decay. Eat more fruits, vegetables and calcium-rich foods to maintain strong teeth.
  • Avoid tobacco products: Smoking and sniffing can cause dental problems and gum disease. Try to stop or reduce the use of these products for better dental health.
  • Protect your teeth during activities: Use a mouth guard during sports activities or when you perform activities with a risk of tooth damage.
  • Care for dentures: If you have dentures, be sure to clean them regularly and store them safely to avoid damage and infection.
